about

Walking through a desert with no shoes and torn rags for clothes I wander in search of an unknown. In the middle of a sand storm the wind's blowing grains like needles into my skin. Stumbling, I push forward. Being pulled by a voice inside me that says, "I must keep going." I look up, eyes squinted and see a glimpse of red. The voice says only one word. “There!” The wind grows stronger as I push to see what it is. My exposed skin begins to burn as the sand blasts the layers away. In a short time sand begins sticking to the moist tissue. My feet are in burning pain and bleeding, surges of sharp pains keep scream for me to stop. But I push on.
As I get closer I can make out it’s a female draped in red fabric that’s flowing along with her ivory hair as if she is floating underwater. The sand is blowing around her, she is protected by an unseen spear. When I step into the area where she stands I fall to my knees and all is silent. I close my eyes for a moment. When I open them I notice the sand that was once sticking to me is now falling from my body and my skin is rebuilding itself. The hairs on my arms start to float and I look up at her, in one hand she’s holding an ancient looking hour glass with the sand twinkling and falling in slow motion, in the other a sleeping golden dove. She opens her crystal blue eyes and from her gently glowing lips I hear a voice that sounds more like a choir of soft voices then a single one say to me, “Your time is running out. You have to stop living in fear and start living your life!” Then the golden dove dreamily opened its pale milky eyes and looked at me, then she and the dove vanished.
